The heart of each blanket features 100% wool felt/fleece and an ergonomic wither contour designed to support performance, comfort and long-lasting fit.
Design & Collaboration
Each Custom Equine blanket is designed by Molly Rodgers, who brings more than 20 years of experience in custom clothing and woven textile design. She works closely with master weavers and their families in Teotitlán, blending naturally dyed wool with patterns that honor native design traditions. Together, they create meaningful, functional pieces, each blanket a unique work of art shaped through collaboration, expertise, and cultural respect.
Ancient Artistry
Teotitlán del Valle is renowned for its ancestral weaving tradition, where artisans hand-weave wool textiles using natural dyes made from tree moss, pomegranate skins, marigold, madrone bark, indigo, and the vivid red cochineal insect. Each pattern is woven from memory and rooted in Zapotec heritage, passed down through generations. Every blanket begins here, crafted with intention, lineage, and centuries-old skill.
